Pedigree of Sealyham Terrier originated in the manor Sealyham in Haverfordwest Welsh county. The owner of the estate Captain John Edwards was able to bring a new exotic breed of dogs that perfectly suited for hunting small animals and birds. Its parents were fox terriers, Welsh corgi, pembroke and Welsh Corgi, Cardigan. In the veins of these animals there is the blood of an extinct English White Terrier (Dandie Dinmont Terrier), as well as rare West Highland WhiteTerrier. Recognition of the breed took place only in 1910, although the first club was organized in 1908.
